They've played twice before, performing instrumental versions of A Thousand Leaves and NYC Ghosts material in '97 and '99 respectively. This is the first North American tour date announced, keep watching for more!! See all you Northwestern fans there!!
APRIL 13th -- huge news, folks! I'm thrilled to announce that the Sonic Youth Concert Chronology is now an official subsection of sonicyouth.com! The "Original Folk Blues" quartet of sites will now be hosted by sonicyouth.com, though still maintained separately by me. Big thanks to everybody involved in this huge move, and thanks to everybody who's supported the site in the past 5 years!
You may have noticed a few subtle layout changes -- the most obvious being the frame in the lower section of the page. I put it there to make browsing the site easier, but if you'd prefer it wasn't there, simply click "browse w/out frame" and it shall vanish. I'm also pleased to announce that the site is now about 99% Netscape compatible -- I've removed the "daydream" symbols that designated solo shows and replaced them w/ simple initials in bold, which seems to have fixed the alignment troubles the old pages had in Netscape. I think some of the individual show pages w/ images might still have faulty alignment, but everything else should run smoothly. Please let me know if there's any problems w/ this new version of the site.

Aloha! As a Christmas gift for all of the loyal site supporters, I've done something particularly special... I've updated! Before we enter 2002 I figured it'd be wise to finally get around to adding backlogged information dating back to September 2000. If you've mailed me any information in the past year, it should now be added. In addition, all of the set lists, tour statistics, and song statistics have been completely retallied and updated to accurately reflect the site's content, for the first time since January 2000.
To coincide with this massive update, I've launched a brand new SY resource -- the Song Information Database. This can be found here. In addition, my SY Tablature Archive has been completely revamped and updated as well. Expect more soon...
