  • Info from Mike Huber: I played at the show at painter's hall. I was the drummer for the opening band. The band was called Shady Crady, later renamed Mercury Rev. We had only been playing a few months at the time. Das Damen also played and didn't play particularly well. If I remember correctly, Thurston broke a guitar during Sy set. Either way, he was upset at the end of the show. After the show we were all eating cake (Kim's birthday?). Kim turned to us and said that we really rocked. It was a big boost to our confidence. Jonathan Donahue had only been playing guitar for a short while and we all looked up to Sy.
