iloveyouihateyou Magasin3 Stockholm 2009

Some documentation of Leah Singer & Lee Ranaldo’s installation and performance at Stockholm’s Magasin3 Konsthall, February 7 – May 24, 2009. The basic setup in this large black-box room entailed a surround sound audio system of many overlapping loops, coupled with one large projection screen (about 4x3m) that was fit with a same-sized mirror, at an angle, which reflected the projected images, and shifted visually as one moved around the space (as did the audio). Due to the overlapping nature of the audio and projection loops, no two moments during the shows two-month run were identical. The other films, presented on smaller screens in the same space, were by Terry Fox (Children’s Tapes, 1974), Gordon Matta-Clark (City Slivers, 1976), and Nancy Holt & Robt Smithson (Swamp, 1971).
