An intimate evening in seated venues with Lee singing songs with both electric
and acoustic guitars, presenting videos and telling stories from his early days in
New York City, his years with Sonic Youth, his latest work and more, including an
onstage discussion with a local moderator at each venue, followed by Questions
and Answers with the audience. A chance to open up the concert experience and
allow the audience to get up close and personal.

1. GLENN BRANCA Live at 33 Grand Street Street (1978) 1:55
Antecedents: Early video of a Branca solo guitar performance at Jeffrey Lohn’s loft series in New York City, June 15, 1978.

2. NOTEBOOK (1991) 4:55
A tour-film shot in part during Sonic Youth’s 1991 European tour with Babes in Toyland, with spoken word accompaniment by Lee.

3. GNARLY TIMES (INHUMAN) (2004) 9:54
Shot live from the stage by Lee Ranaldo, this one features Sonic Youth with then-tour mates Wolf Eyes and Hair Police in one final Detroit encore blowout at the end of our tour together in August 2004.

4. BLIND BLINK (2018 Instagram Edit) 0:53
A one minute social media distillation of Blind Performance #2, filmed during it’s only staged performance during the 2008 edition of the ‘No Fun Festival’ at New York City’s Knitting Factory. Accompanied by drummers Tom Surgal and Pete Nolan, all performers were blindfolded for the entire 12 minute duration of the performance, which was taken from a portfolio of ‘Proposals for Performances’ written by LR in 1985.
