Hi everybody! SONG OF THE WEEK is a roughly weekly-ish feature that examines one or two Sonic Youth songs from a songwriting/performance history viewpoint. The initial plan was to target songs that I knew were missing or had inferior transcriptions, while finding interesting angles to explore in the text. I'd also intended to carry one tuning forward each week, as a fun game for myself but also to make it easier for people who may only have one guitar to spare for these oddball tunings. I've strayed a bit from my plan as inspiration strikes, so I hope the fake set list style menu below helps with finding songs in the same tuning.
If you wonder why you see Comic Sans below, it's because Sonic Youth used Comic Sans for their set lists from 2003 onward. Prior to that, from '95 to 2002, they used the much cooler but less likely to be installed Dom Casual (and prior to that, a sharpie).
