Lyrics   status: confirmed

I'm just here for dictation
I don't wanna be a sensation
Being on 60 Minutes
Wasn't worth your fifteen minutes?

Don't touch my breast
I'm just working at my desk
Don't put me to the test
I'm just doing my best

Shopping at Maxfields
Power for you to wield
I dreamed of going to the Grammies
Til you poked me with your whammy

You used to spin the disks
Now you're mourning your wrists
I'm just from Encino
Why are you so meano?

I'm just here for dictation
I'm not your summer vacation
You really like to shmooze
Well now you're on the news

I'm from Sherman Oaks
Just a wheel in the spokes
But I ain't giving you head
In a Sunset bungalow

NOTES:

  • Working title: "Theoretical Chaos"
  • The first album track to feature triple guitar SY?
  • The outro consists of Kim reciting the names of all of the models in the March 1992 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue. Among the models Kim names are Kathy Ireland, Paulina Porizkova, Naomi Campbell, Vendela, Roshumba, Angie Everhart, & Stacey Williams.
  • "...inspired by the odious ejaculative habits of a then-current [Geffen] employee who was subsequently remanded to therapy", according to the 'Dirty' deluxe reissue liner notes by Byron Coley.
  • Apparently the beat was stolen from The Theoretical Girls' "You Got Me", hence the working title.

ALTERNATE VERSIONS:

  • On "Burning Spear" 7" - LIVE - ?

Recorded live on 1/24/93 in Melbourne, Australia @ the Big Day Out festival. 7" available only w/ some Australian versions of Dirty. Same version appears on 'Westwood One' radio disc.

  • "Theoretical Chaos" - DEMO - 3:07

An early instrumental version recorded in late '91 at SY's Hoboken rehearsal space during demo sessions for 'Dirty'.
