I want to get the Killer7 OST one day. So many great songs in that game...I used the music that plays during the Angel fight as an example of great electronic compositions in video games on another forum...

I just torrented it, it was like 170mb. Cool tunes.

I have $10 remaining in my pocket. I'm hitting up the pawn shops tomorrow. I'm not getting my hopes up.

Gamestop? It's always like $8 at every Gamestop?

Dr. Eugene Felikson 07.06.2010 08:58 PM

Trust me, I've checked.

noisereductions 07.06.2010 08:59 PM

do you know how to check the zipcodes of local stores on their website? I mean, seriously, it's a really common game. ANd you live in a big city. You live in an Inner City. And you're in a Posse for Butterfly's sake.

Just checked GameStop.com, apparently there's a copy at a local mall, but I have checked there recently, and couldn't find it. I'm purchasing a new game tomorrow, and it's either Killer7 or Friday the 13th on NES...

I know F13's supposedly a shit game...but how could I not physically own that?

I've owned it since launch. I love it. I loved it then. I scared the piss out of me when I wa s a little kid. It's still wicked hard. But its way better than ppl try to say.

atsonicpark 07.07.2010 12:36 AM

I own the F13 and Nightmare on Elm Street games. I don't even own an NES! I just have 'em. And they're... games.

noisereductions 07.07.2010 07:10 AM

^me too actually. NOES is one of my favorite NES games of all time. Easily.

atsonicpark 07.07.2010 07:14 AM

Haha. Um... okay.

noisereductions 07.07.2010 07:27 AM

it's not a joke. I'm serious. I've always loved it. 4-player simultaneous action, you switch character traits, it has 2 versions of each level (awake vs dreaming) and it has honestly some of the best music in a NES game ever.

Dr. Eugene Felikson 07.07.2010 07:32 AM

Damn! I woke up too early, and now I gotta wait for GameStop to open! All I wanna do is play Killer7!

I want another distraction from getting my film done on time, and I want it now!

rave on is such a cheesy and great tune.
I love how it was used only on the way to the curriculum gate. made a huge impact on me while experiencing it the first time in the angel mission.

masafumi takada is one of my favourite Videogame composer/producer.
Ive read an interview on the creations of his OST which was pretty entertaining. seems to be he is pretty punkish at heart. "I use whatever is there to use, to create my sounds"

atsonicpark 07.07.2010 08:29 AM

I love rave on. It actually might be my favorite video game song of all time next to mean bean machine vs music and journey to silius. It's in such a sharp contrast to the rest of the game. I always really looked forward to walking up the steps.

I can't remember the name of the song but there's this amazing song with this soft organ in it, it's just organ and a light beat, that's another fav.

All the tunes are cool.

Got a link to that interview?

shabbray2.0 07.07.2010 08:33 AM

here it is:

pretty interesting!

and yes, rave on was like looking in the sun after walking through the rain, you know you almost beat that mission when you were "allowed" to listen to it. I always stopped there and listened to it as a whole, volume full throttle, which drove a buddy of mine insane.

I love this quote out of it:

And do you have a sound studio here? Like a foley room and stuff?
MT: No. I do everything at my desk. Even if you don't go all the way to a studio, if you have a microphone and a tape recorder you can recreate sound effects anywhere, like this [Takada demonstrates at his desk].

pretty inspiring

atsonicpark 07.07.2010 08:35 AM

thank you!

...I did that too btw :)

shabbray2.0 07.07.2010 08:40 AM

its addictive :)

did you read the translation of this book?

it takes your understanding of K7 to another level!!!

first of all, this book is some of the best graphic design work Ive ever seen in real live. astonishing. everybody who loves graphics, editorial design should buy this!!!

for the translation (K7 background information):

Edit:
I totally forgot that the OST for samurai champloo was also original by him. when I first played it I thought it was licensed nujabes stuff from the anime. shit this guy is more then talented.

atsonicpark 07.07.2010 09:00 AM

I read a translation online in faq form, I really want to see some of the graphics though.

I remember seeing some of the early games images with characters not in the game.. insane..
