Not sure if this has been mentioned but I was delightfully surprised to see Sonic Youth's cassette-only track on the vinyl reissue of "No Alternative" for Record Store Day. Same version of "Burning Spear" as this.

That album is killer. The Beasties track is insane....

I also picked up the RSD release

FYI "Pirates Press" is a record manufacturing company. Not some clue or anything.

Sonelab Studio posted this to facemook today:

(J) Bill Nace and Kim Gordon were at Sonelab today. We finished mixing their forthcoming Body/Head record. It's fab.

Bottom line: I think you should be able to get a copy.

Not from Motto freakin' Books! Those sons of bitches sent me a shipping confirmation e-mail the day after I ordered the number - a month later I still hadn't received jack. I contacted them THREE times over a two-week-or-so period and they didn't reply to ANY of my messages, even though on the first two I was simply asking if it was normal for a package from them to take this long to arrive (on the third message I basically said OK, that's it, I request a refund). Today I got wicked pissed and went directly to PayPal to file a claim; a coupla minutes after I did so, whaddayaknow, Motto woke the fuck up and finally issued a refund. Dismal abject wretched experience.

Anyway, it turns out The Wire is selling this baby as well. I've had positive experiences ordering from their website in the past and so that's what I did.

Mono Konsum still has it in stock as well. As I mentioned before, I ordered my copy from there after I had an insane amount of trouble with Motto Books. Sorry you ran into problems with them. I'm now feeling glad I took another route and could add this to the collection in the end, even though it seems they delivered Stu's copy in a heartbeat.

As I have said earlier, I donīt order straight from those small companies anymore. If you canīt stop doing it, I think you should stop complaining about how those work.

This is really cool, highly recommended document. Picked up my copy at No 8 @ the Ace Hotel. nice job, they must've had a lot of fun with this.

I like the color illustration of the art gallery wall covered with Kim's work. The strength becomes more apparent when I see all of them together, rather than one at a time.

Richard Kern - Shot by Kern (Book/DVD)

As with Kern's last TASCHEN book, "Action, Shot By Kern" comes with an hour long video, shot and edited by Kern, with original music by Sonic Youth's Thurston Moore, because, like Kern's models, the modern world is always in motion.

OK. Updated info related to the Lee Ranaldo Barcelona's acoustic recordings.

Release expected in October 2013. Vinyl and digital download only.

It's the actual Lee Ranaldo Band playing some acoustic versions of the "Between the times.." + some new songs + some covers of Bob Dylan, Neil Young, Sandy Denny and The Monkees.

Regards.
