How do you copy from youtube? Is it just audio or video too?

You might wanna wait a little while for the 83 show - i still haven't put up the good and the band, the second to last song...gotta shrink the file.

jon boy 03.15.2007 03:01 PM

nicfit 03.15.2007 03:10 PM

CHOUT, did you rip all of those goodies from vhs to pc?

drrrtyboots 03.15.2007 03:45 PM

that mike watt and the black gang cover of tuff gnarl is fucking great.

Green Magnesium 03.15.2007 03:50 PM

Thanks! Especially for the Milan show!

atari 2600 03.15.2007 04:10 PM

I thought I downloaded that Milan show from dime a long time ago...and never have found the disc for it...

yeah, screamingskull, Passaic '84 is the best full-length pro-shot R.E.M. concert video that I know of...i've had it for a few years now, and I watch it fairly regularly...this is the same one that was shown on Night Flight on the USA Channel way back in the late '80s...they also showed the I.R.S. Studios acoustic session that's on the When the Light is Mine...DVD.
The Rockpalast from Germany '85 is a really good one too. (but not as good)...Tourfilm (official) and Pukkelpop Fest from the '89 tour are good as well.

There is a better way to snatch these (audio & video), I'm sure, but I just copy and paste the link from youtube into the box at www.keepvid.com.
Then, as I save the file, I name it with ".flv" at the end.
(One can add this later if they prefer, but the converter will not recognize them without the ".flv" file extension.)
Then, I use a converter to make the .flv into .avi and burn to a cd-r as svcd.

Now, for those of you without a torrent program, you may not be able to easily get a converter without paying for one.

So, (for a limited time) here's the link for the 2 MB program.

link removed (you missed it, sucka--'tis expired)
Read the instructions in the folder. I rewrote the directions, because the ones that come with these applications downloaded from torrents are always very convoluted.

Cool, I figured the would have to be something like that...how is the quality?

Magic Wheel Memory 03.15.2007 07:36 PM

This kicks ass!!! All praise due Chout and Yogi Bear!

atari 2600 01.02.2008 08:45 PM

I see you added this:

Zap Club
Brighton, UK
11/08/85

01 Green Light
02 Brother James
03 Kill Yr Idols
04 Flower
05 I Love Her All The Time
http://www.badongo.com/file/7089257
87 MB

06 Ghost Bitch
07 The Burning Spear
08 Expressway To Yr Skull
http://www.badongo.com/file/7089320
96 MB

This is the show that took place the evening of the outdoor "Blood on the Beach" performance in the afternoon. I split this into two uploads because of badongo's 100 MB limitation. There isn't any reason to combine these two .rar folders after downloading; just extract each .rar to get all the files (one file for each song listing). The .avi videos are lossy from CHOUT's youtube posts at http://youtube.com/SONICchout.
That this has a somewhat blocky at times picture quality after being burned to a disc is discernable by the relatively small file sizes. The audio is at 128 kbps. This synched up fine for me when burned in Nero.
If you're of the school that something is better than nothing, then here you have it.

Amazing collection Chout! Took me a little to figure out it was the SONICchout account and not the dead one. Thanks!

nicfit 01.03.2008 04:07 AM

Thanks atari, your "ready to burn" thingies are really handy! Much appreciated. Obviously thanks (again) to CHOUT too for his wonderful youtube ups!

CHOUT 01.04.2008 02:51 AM

I deleted a few videos from my puter before the old account got closed...ill have to have another transfer session again...
