it is no way their weakest release, rather ripped is i think. If rather ripped had songs like skink, screaming skull or bone, we could consider ourselves happy.

EJSTANS is fuckin classic, a perfect summer album, short sharp shocking songs, loads of noise and supersounding riffs, overall - a masterpiece.

After listening to it some more, I've decided that this album rocks. Some of the songs remind me of Psychic Hearts. And Sweet Shine is such a good song. But no Lee Songs!? I would have loved to have heard Lee's voice with the sound snd style of EJSTNS. Lee would have sounded soooo good on this album.

very adevnturous album. very different, so i can see why some dont dig it. i give it 8 out of 10

When I'm at a friend's and EJTNS is playing, I always find myself enjoying it and asking them what amazing sonic youth it is they're playing there (expecting the obscurest of obscures that hasn't crossed my path to date). So I'm always loving it then, but then when I come home and put it on myself (I do own a copy), I never get into it… I hope this goes on for the rest of my life.

Speaking of Sweet Shine - It's a great song, but does the little "bonus" end thing piss off anyone else? I'll have the CD player on shuffle, and after 2:30 or whatever of silence, that Japanese/siren thing comes on and I realize I've been listening to nothing for 2:30. And they I have to move my hand all the way to the Next button to mix up another track. I hate those things.

To SY's credit, though, it's not 20 minutes of silence like some bands. Or 11 tracks of nothing at the end before the best song on the CD (Coheed & Cambria).

Coheed & Cambria can't have a best song if they are all equally terrible.

EJSTNS is a great album, and if you don't like it, you're deaf. Bone, anyone? Classic Sonic Youth. Winners Blues is god.

i didnt read this thread at all, but ejstans is just great and fuck ya all who doesnt like it. no,no i didn't mean like fuck ya's, it's just what i want to say it's great album.

Androgynous Mind, Tokoyo Eye, and Bone are all superb. I really like the whole album, except Winner's Blues.
