SY + ENRIQUE MORENTE

With sadness we note the passing this week of our friend, the great Spanish flamenco singer Maestro Enrique Morente. Sonic Youth was lucky enough to work with Enrique in 2005, when performing together in Valencia. He was also kind enough to grace us with his presence, and his voice, at the opening performance of our ‘Sonic Youth etc. : Sensational Fix” museum show in Madrid in 2009. From straight traditional flamenco to the way far out, Enrique was interested in it all. He will be missed.
