THE GOOD AND THE BAD tab by chris lawrence okay. i'm not going to spend too much time on this one because it, like many other early SY songs, is based purely on sounds and not necessarily notes being played. this song features kim and lee on guitar, and thurston on bass. the bass and drums lock the groove down, and kim and lee's guitars are just extra percussion, basically. you may want to use an alternate tuning instead of standard, to get more appealing sounds while banging away. the song begins with a long bass slide, then the drums kick in and they jam on one riff. the 2 guitars on this song are panned left and right. they come in at first with 4 solid clangs, probably banging the open strings with a drumstick. then they both go into full attack for a little while. the notes don't really matter, but search around the 11th fret. after that, back to the clangs. rapid strumming again, on different notes this time. higher notes. the song spills out into a brief section featuring the same long bass slide from the intro set to crashing cymbals and atonal guitar picking. then the bass comes in on a D note, and the guitars and drums quiet down. the drums become more of an occasional accent, flurries of cymbal taps and tom flutters. the guitars enter again, strumming mindlessly, following the bass changes sometimes, sometimes not. again, spill out into the bass slide section, this time going off into the main bass figure again. the guitars resume clanging and continue from there on, a little more laid back. end on the bass slide section while guitars strum furiously. ------------------------------------------------ THE SONIC YOUTH GUITAR/BASS TABLATURE ARCHIVE: http://www.islandnet.com/~mustang/tab/index.html ------------------------------------------------
