MARILYN MOORE tabbed by chris lawrence (mustang@islandnet.com) warning: this is going to be terrible. tunings: Lee: CCEbGGD (both Cs tuned up) Thurston: GGCCEbEb LEE: free time before intro: just arpeggiate open strings intro (w/ slide): D--12\15/12-- G--12\15/12-- G--12\15/12-- Eb-12\15/12-- C--12\15/12-- C--12\15/12-- vocal section: D--12\15/12---------------- G--12\15/12-------------0-- REPEAT G--12\15/12-------------0-- Eb-12\15/12-------------0-- C--12\15/12-------------0-- C--12\15/12-------------0-- the mix is pretty cloudy, but i think when thurston sings "you get to a point" lee starts running the slide up higher, around the 18th fret, but it's kind of hard to tell. at "over and over" start droning the open G strings... gradually get wilder with the slide. when the drums quiet down after the first vocal section, just go up high with the slide and keep picking as you bring it down the neck. finish your descent at the 12th fret and hold it there, arpeggiating those notes til the 2nd vocal part kicks in. keep playing the 12th fret notes during the vocal section. at "depends what you're used to" run it way up for some plinky notes, then bring it back down again. when the "bruises from bottles" part begins, arpeggiate all the open strings, and continue until the end. if somebody can hear more precisely what's going on, feel free to update this. THURSTON: After Lee starts his slide riff, just run muted harmonics up the neck, roughly between the 3rd and 9th frets. Continue thru verse. Towards the end of the first vocal section start trem picking open strings, specifically the C's. When the break first begins, just return to picking muted harmonics. Then he plays this: (it's more apparent on live versions, so you'll have to find one to hear the proper rhythm)... trem pick all notes, bend em w/ trem bar too...
