Lyrics

Turquoise boy I must confess to you
Sweet liberation has come
You are a legend in a lovely game
But now I feel I must run

Turquoise boy the sky is calling me
Sweet isolation in the sun
You are a soldier in a sad charade
How do you lose what's never found

Turquoise boy I must confess to you
Sweet liberation has come
You are a legend in a lovely game
But now I feel I must run

Track length: 6:14

NOTES:

  • Lyrics written by Thurston.
  • This song dates back to at least '99, when Thurston was performing a solo acoustic piece entitled "Altar Boy, Church Basement". A version was released on the Hurricane Floyd disc. He was playing lots of future Murray Street tunes at the time, as well, but this track was held over for a few more albums when it was crafted into "Turquoise Boy".
  • For the 2006 Rather Ripped tour, with Mark Ibold along for the ride on bass, Kim did not play bass on the songs she sings on Rather Ripped, instead focusing merely on singing and dancing. However, for this song, she did strap on the bass for the extended instrumental sections, but removed it before singing.
