HISTORY

In September 1986, the band headed to Los Angeles to record soundtrack music for the film MADE IN USA. Though their music does appear on the score, none of the music was available until the soundtrack's release in 1995. The soundtrack was recorded at Hit City West, but prior to entering the studio they set up shop at Spinhead Studio to sketch out material and ideas. SPINHEAD SESSIONS contains 7 archival recordings from these rehearsals.

PACKAGING

The album cover is a photo of the band taken in Centralia, PA by Lee in 1987. The back cover is the sidewalk outside Spinhead as captured by David Markey.

I believe that track 1 on this album was originally released as "Spinhead" on Mix Tape #1, way back in 2004. Also, track 2 has been available as a download on sonicyouth.com for quite a long time.
