Sonic Youth performed as a trio, without Lee, debuting some of the new material that would end up on "Rather Ripped". Some of this material was premiered by the same trio at an earlier Flywheel gig in July. Thurston had also performed new songs in a solo performance on July 23rd at the Flywheel.

Thurston also joined Sunburned Hand of the Man for a jam.
