Venue: Kabusa Gallery -- Kulturbro 2000 Festival
Notes:
This was Steve Shelley's night.
It began with Mats Gustafsson on saxophone, playing duets with everybody present in a small room that only held 9 audience members. Each duet was 2 minutes long, and the other performer played guitar. After 2 minutes, the performer and audience members would switch. I don't know the specific order, but it went Jim, Kim, Thurston for part of it...
Following this, everybody played together in the large room. Steve had written a playlist to organize who would play when.
It was as follows:
1 S & J
2 T & J
3 T & K
4 T & K & LR
5 K & LR & Lindha
6 Lindha & David
7 David & Loren
8 Loren & Kim
9 Anybody/everybody
It began with Jim O'Rourke and Steve Shelley on electronics. After a while, Thurston Moore joined on guitar and Steve left. Jim got behind the drum kit and played a song with Thurston (whose lyrics were taped to his mic stand).
The song dissolved into heavy improvisation. Jim departed, and Kim Gordon and Lee Ranaldo joined on guitars. Thurston dropped out and Lindha Svantesson joined. Kim and Lee left, and Lindha performed with David Stackenäs. David then played with Loren Mazzacane Connors. Kim replaced David, and then there was a freeform jam session with pretty much everybody.
