  • The band's first appearance on Letterman. Paul Shaffer and the house band actually perform the song with Sonic Youth, and while Lee and Thurston attack their guitars with baseball bats and drumsticks at the end of the song, Paul pushes his keyboard off its stand before the crashing finale that leaves Thurston falling flat on his ass before hopping away. A fantastic performance and very entertaining to watch!
