On the set list, the encore is listed as "Schiz / Kotton" so they probably decided which one to play at the last minute, though it's possible both were played (and for sake of the tour statistics, that's what I'll assume - though it's more likely the encore was cut completely on this tour!). For what it's worth, setlist.fm claims the encore was not played at all.
Thurston and Steve joined Mike Watt during his set on the second stage for "Tuff Gnarl".
"The Diamond Sea" was dedicated to Jerry Garcia, who passed earlier that day.
