repo man is decent. saw it when i was a teen from a quentin tarantino obsessed friend. he thought the mysterous pulp fiction briefcase scenes were a tribute to repo man. i got it, but didn't give a fuck.
watched it recently. and i have to say it's kinda neat. great low tech 80's special effects. |

I thought the briefcase was a reference to Kiss Me Deadly.

Double Indemnity (1944) I find it hard to choose between Sunset Boulevard and Double Indemnity. Both are masterpieces, and Double Indemnity has some of the best dialogue I've ever heard in a movie. James M. Cain, the author of the novel that Double Indemnity is based on (same name), has admitted that the screenplay by Billy Wilder and Raymond Chandler is better than his own novel. Raymond Chandler also wrote "The Big Sleep", a novel that was later adapted to film by Howard Hawks; it's also an excellent film. It certainly makes me want to look into and dissect more of his work. So yeah, Billy Wilder is great! |

^ SOME LIKE IT HOT was on last night and I laughed a lot.
LOST WEEKEND, STALAG 17, APARTMENT, WITNESS FOR THE PROSECUTION, ONE TWO THREE are some good ones too. And there are a lot more that most people like, but might not be my particular cup of tea, like SABRINA. His last few films were pitiful, but that doesn't diminish his astonishingly long winning streak. |

When they use him to infiltrate the whore house in season 2, and he ends up fucking the whores. Classic. Mcnulty is the best cop character ever. Except for maybe Serpico. Actually no way, he's better than Serpico's self righteous ass. Who are some other great movie/television cops? Dale Cooper, Dirty Harry, Hank Schraeder, ummmm

It isn't something I've given much thought to, but a few that come to mind are Pacino's character from "Heat" and Treat Williams in "Prince of the City". I love both performances.
