midori - 9/10
![]() 1992 cult anime movie that was banned when originally released for depiction of animal abuse. It was directed, written and animated by the one guy and it's just a really depressing arty fucked up anime that runs for about 50 minutes. Great melancholy keyboard music also. ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Yeah, I was more into "Budd Dwyer shoots self dot aye vee eye" as a child, so I can't really say much.
Either way... death rules! |

Love "Butterfly Kiss". I recently tracked down a couple of Winterbottom's very early TV efforts such as "Forget About Me" and am looking forward to seeing those. |

The last couple of days ...
![]() Black Narcissus (9/10) ![]() If you've not seen this before, please don't be put off by the less than inspiring poster. This is a masterpiece, creepier in its way than almost any horror film you're ever likely to see. And visually, there's not much in all of cinema that even comes close to it. ![]() For a Few Dollars More (7/10) Probably my favourite Leone western (which I'm generally not a huge fan of). This gets the top spot though, largelly for Gian Maria Volonte's El Indio character, for me the most genuinely sinister western movie villain ever (although Jack Palance's character in Shane runs him pretty close). |

ok.. not that I'm asking for a handout, but whats the deal with CG? I've heard it mentioned on this site before, checked it out and heard it mentioned from several dealers I trade/buy dvd-r with. risks of virus and the like? how does it work with the ratio thing? how does one maintain a good ration if they don't have much to upload etc? color me curious as i'm a bit torrent virgin

whatever works: 4/10
since when is woody allen worse than steven seagal? it's about some disgruntled old physicist who lets a runaway country girl stay in his home, basically a feature length episode of big bang theory but worse. vicky cristina barcelona was almost as bad why am i not surprised woody allen made a movie where an old guy who looks and acts like him hooks up with some 17 year old |

Yeah, 9 songs sucks.
WHATEVER WORKS also sucks -- Woody Allen needs to hang it up, and that's coming from someone who ranks a good 15 of his films as masterpieces. I really can't say I've liked anything he's done since... eh.. MATCH POINT, which I thought was not THAT good (like a 5/10. AVERAGE). WHATEVER WORKS starts great and is apparently -- and maybe obviously -- from an old, unproduced script. It just felt like it wanted to be some shitty Curb Your Enthusiasm movie or something. When the "romance" aspect enters in and whatnot, it just turns to PURE SHIT. He's already done the "old man and a young girl" thing in his movies before, like Manhattan. Oh, and he did it in real life too. ZING! BROWN BUNNY is a masterpiece. Gallo is actually a brilliant director. I'm a big fan... of the two films he's released thus far. BROWN BUNNY has such a wonderful atmosphere. I love that the blowjob is the only reason the film is known to most people, or talked about... it's like this experimental/arthouse film that all of a sudden became mainstream because of some dicksucking. Pretty brilliant honestly. And then Gallo is in Jay Z videos and shit! Insane. Anyway, I love it, and Buffalo, and can't wait for his new one. So, hi. |

recently watched...
Pistol Opera - 9/10 Tokyo Drifter - 8/10 8 1/2 - 10/10 Blood Simple - 10/10 (underrated film. My favorite scene is when the bartender finds his boss dead in a chair.. and tries to hide the body and the blood that's all over the floor. really thought that was a powerful scene. Actually the whole sequence is... up to when he buries the body.) |

Definitely enjoyed the last installment of the Harry Potter series it ends with a flourish. Ralph Finnes was probably the best choice out there for Lord Volemort
