The good songs on Noise are incredibly moving, and the wanky tracks are at least "interesting". In a month or so, after further investigation, I think I'll be able to put together a Broadcast compilation which I'll absolutely love.

I love Stereolab but I can kinda relate to the sentiment here. I never go on Stereolab binges, because the "swingin' '60s" elements get a bit old after one or two full listens to any of the band's complete albums. I still think they're unbelievable, and that their highly stylized mashup of jazz, kraut, electronica and pop resulted in a handful of classic albums.

But Broadcast is just a more interesting band. I got into them years ago while scrolling through some indie/underground music site desperately searching for some music that I didn't already know. I think it was the cover art that grabbed my attention of all things. Now I've been a fan for something like 13 years (?) and looking at their career output as a whole, I think they were the better band.

RIP Trish Keenan, am I right?

Better late than never, brah.
Also, I couldn't stop mis-reading "popped" as "pooped" in this post. Took me far too long to get it right. It was hysterical and disconcerting, and now I'm wondering if I'm not too sleep-deprived to go to work today.
