that Atlanta show is very good. the audio and that mid Candle section freak-out should be legendary alone.
i think this was the show where some girl at the t-shirt booth intended on making fun of me for 2 minutes because i wanted a girls SY shirt. "yes, i would like that girls shirt !!!" ![]() |

Second half of Washing Machine is still to this day probably my all-time live experience highlight for life. Saw it at a Lollapalooza, before the album's release...so it was completely new to me. Plus it was my young 16 yr old self's first SY show at all. Seeing that and the Diamond Sea in the same set...my god...way to have the cherry popped. Naysayers will disagree...but I still consider that one of the golden eras of live SY.
In fact, inspired by my own post to go back and watch the 1996 Rockpalast show...and it's just so...damn...flawless! Edit: I was at the Dallas Lolla. |

Out of curiosity....which Irving Plaza show? If memory serves correctly, they played a 2-night bill there? I was at the first night I believe. I don't completely recall, but I think they opened with Karen Koltrane at the one I was at...so prolly the opposite evening. Edit: I just looked it up. I guess it was actually a 3-night bill, and I was at the middle one. And yes, the 1,000 Leaves stuff was really quite mind-blowing, I totally have to agree. Both Anagrama and Stil really were a treat to see as well at that time. |
