01. Ahleuchatistas - Heads Full Of Poison
02. Mark Van Hoen - The Revenant Diary
03. Godspeed You! Black Emperor - Allelujah! Don't Bend! Ascend!

Of course, I left off all things Sonic......normally don't like offering "best of" because I hear so little, but the above listed did stand out to me in 2012.

i've been supprised by how many lists (online and in magazines and stuff) have left off Animal Collective. I've seen "top 50" lists which dont mention Centepede Hz at all. I guess it might be cool not to like them anymore but i think it's a really good album with some amazing tunes. There was a load of buzz about the album when it came out, but people seem to have forgoten it.

(or did i just dream it?)

I agree. Their 2004-2010 output was always in the top five of everything. But I don't even think Potchfork or Magnet included them this year. I think it's a rally good album too, though its probably not in my top five of the year. It's definitely in or near the top ten, for sure.

Also, Deerfhoof released a great album this year, and it's been noticeably absent from a lot of the lists you'd imagine it would fare well on.

great list mister startur

amongst the albums that i would say impressed me most, in no order:

moon wiring club - today bread, tomorrow dreams
actress - rip
lukid - lonely at the top
pye corner audio - sleep games
dean Blunt and inga Copeland - black is beautiful
laurel halo - quarantine
cooly g - playin me (anything released on hyperdub this year really)
dan habarnam - from the known
yeasayer - fragrant world
chairlift - something
burial - truant
jam city - classical curves
asc & sam kdc - decayed society

probably forgetting a lot - it really was a fantastic year in terms of electronic music albums. any rinse mix cd released this year should be mentioned as well - they were all great. the latest one, mixed by t.williams, is probably the best though.

i thought it was decent. not a bad album, but not a one i felt the urge to listen to more than a few times either. this said, it may be better this way - after the whole mpp boom it's good to see them releasing this kind of records as well.

Here is the Brainwashed "best of 2012" as voted by it's readers: Top 100 albums, EP's, re-issue / boxset and "worst of."

kind of surprised to see Earth and Om so high on the list. Both are bands I have loved in the past but neither of those albums impressed me.

One thing to consider, this list was voted on by the readers and staff of Brainwashed.com. Personally, I believe it's an improvement that there is nothing: Nurse With Wound, Legendary Pink Dot, Edward Ka-spel listed in the top 50. I remember in previous "best of" list NWW would have two albums in the top 20......but I also understand these groups are there bread and butter.

Haven't heard much of the new Om & Earth like I did the previous releases. This is the second time in the last four or five years that a Swans release ended up in the top spot and I have no doubt this one is probably deserving.

Acts Of The Year......was CAN really touring this year?

Two things the list provides that I truly enjoy: Overlooked Staff Picks and Worst Album

The Overlooked Staff Picks is something I will be looking up / listening to over the coming months. Not having a dog in the race, I do find it somewhat funny that a few here at SYG have posted about the Animal Collective release being left off some "best of" list and the Brainwashed folks have it on there "worst of" list : )
