Let me start by correcting one mistake, this past Friday completed my father-in-laws third week in the hospital (it's just feels like four weeks). A successful tracheotomy was performed in the OR on Tuesday and improvement was almost instant. Within 12 hours of receiving the trach, he was almost weaned off the ventilator. I say almost because they are only turning it on at night with a tad bit of sedation so he can get full rest......and now it he on a breathing collar (much for comfortable).

During the day, the is receiving basic rehabilitation with the most enjoyable being the bed chair. They roll this bed looking machine up next to his bed. They slide him over and with the press of a button, the bed chair machine turns into a chair allowing my father-in-law to redistribute weight / use mussels one can't when being bed ridden. The first day he was able to withstand this for an hour before it totally wore him out. Each day they've added 10-15 minutes to his bed chair time.

He started his swallowing exercise and that didn't go well at all as he aspirated : (

Tonight I will be spending all night with him so you Sonic peeps may see me later on......after the Texans beat down the Chicago Bears!

CLeaning is one thing people NEVER regret!

Yesterday the wife and I cleaned out the garage, put up all the Halloween decorations and got down all the Christmas decorations. Then we moved furniture around the house, vacuumed out the sofa (under it to) and gave everything a good dusting.

Then I took a nap before starting my 12 hour shift here at the hospital. I have a feeling when I get home in the morning, my wife will have some Christmas stuff out : ) YES YES YES - it's very early for Christmas decorations......but when you decorate other homes, churches and businesses, it's better to get your stuff up first.

Speaking of the hospital, I feel sort of like the Grim Reaper walking the hospital hallways......you can sort of tell who is near death (waaaaaaaaaay toooooo many young people) ---- SAY NO to synthetic marijuana as that shit will fry your brain and you too can be in a hospital shitting yourself

last year i liked that show a lot, while people in hulu were screaming and demanding its cancellation. i thought schmidt was hilarious.

to be sure, I've never seen that show, its commercial was on heavy rotation during Sunday NFL football (ON FOX) and that was the line, I thought it was funny, but it is my first and only exposure to that show. I only watch PBS and if it sucks, I put it on mute and play some guitar like Jerry Garcia in a dingy blue light hotel room. Speaking of the NFL, hey Rob, I KNOW you were feeling that Texans game last night! Hot damn it was like a good old fashioned Pittsburg-Ravens gangfight on the field. "Just win baby!"

Fuck to the hell yeah I was psyched last night. taht is the reason I am groggy and half lidded today at work. Stayed up to watch the Bulls on Parade monkey-stomp the Bears.

That shit was awesome. well worth staying up even though I have to get up at 5AM to get ready for work.

Go Texans. I too was a die-hard Oiler fan. The Oilers had some great seasons but never did we lay on the asswhuppin like that!

Yeah, I can't STAND the Bears so good for Texas, plus I love an underdog and if Texans? Lets enjoy this moment for now, because inevitably your Texans and my Ravens will dance again in the post-season, and to be sure, I'm nervous to say the least
