Any good wave editor (Adobe Audition, WaveLab) should do the trick, but most of them are not free. I always use Trader's Little Helper (at 0, which is the highest setting) and/or Exact Audio Copy.

Dime has a guide that considers three criteria (frequency, spectrogram, chronogram) and three programs (EAC, Soundforge and Audacity):

Me, I've only used Trader's Little Helper (Analysis -> test) and the results have been right on the coin, but Dime doesn't consider this accurate enough. Those sick puppies!

so i need to convert the .flac file to .wav then analyze it with EAC and get a .png to prove it, i'm getting tired now but i'll try and sort this out soon. do i need to do all this to ensure dime wont ban it or can i just go ahead and upload anyway?

Cynical: just upload it - if it indeed sounds lossy someone else will do all of the above steps for you :-D , and your torrent will then be banned.

not at all, grateful they get around! The only reason I don't torrent is I am using a university faculty server, and they have a bad history with torrents there.

would be great to get the Raleigh one, I thought their was an Oakland one on, too, which I also don;t got, and would appreciate
