What's yer favorite George Harrison song?
Here's mine, just because he's the only Beatle I ever listen to, and well...It is the anniversary of his death, so...here goes: "I need You" "Think for Yourself" "Love you To" "I Want to Tell You" "Within You Without You" "While My Guitar Gently Weeps" "Long Long Long" "Savoy Truffle" "Only a Northern Song" "It's All Too Much" "Something" "I'd Have You Anytime" "My Sweet Lord" "Wah Wah" "What is Life" "Run of the Mill" "Beware of Darkness" "Apple Scruffs" "Ballad of Sir Frankie Crisp" "All Things Must Pass" |

Though I'm hoping that the ones I haven't heard are shitter than the ones I have heard. Small mercies and all that.

He had such a cool voice though. When the Beatles did their little three-part harmony thingy, his voice always stood out.

Can't beat "My Sweet Lord". That song is just aching for a post-shoegaze, fuzzy, noise drenched cover. Someone call the Flaming Lips 15 years ago.

"It's All Too Much" is my favorite Beatles song. So that should tell you how I feel about them. Everything besides "A Hard Days Night" is terribly overrated.
When I listen to "All Thing Must Pass", I don't even think about the Beatles. It stands own its own. Harrison was a cool dude. |

While My Guitar gently Weeps.
I think true genius-beatle was Lennon. But I think he also made his best songs with the Beatles. Very often band is something more than solo-artist. But Harrison made also some quite great songs like that up, Something, If I needed Someone, Within You Without You, Love You To, Taxman, Blue jay Way, Long long Long, Here Comes the sun and I me mine. |

He has so many classics! One that I enjoy that isn't listed is, "When We Were Fab." I really enjoyed his work with Jeff Lynn.

George was a class act. I havn't gone past All Things Must Pass in his solo chronology though, I understand the quality tapers off. The Wonderwall LP is awesome, Electronic Sound LP is precocious.
Beatles: greater than the sum of their parts And I've finally allowed myself to like SOME of Paul's solo stuff, 1st two LPs mostly. Slowly gathering all the John & Yoko LPs. |

Basically each beatles first solo album was pretty rad, even RAM.
George had a couple good singles, I literally mean like two, after All Things Must Pass. Paul pretty much sank into wankery after RAM. and John had the best solo career, though he wrote some SHIT too. Plastic Ono Band is probably up there if not better than anything he did in the beatles, for creative purposes. Not really melodic purposes. Anyways, 'The Inner Light' and 'Long, Long, long'. The rest are just him trying to sound like john or paul |

Yep. I suspect Black Sabbath were influenced by this song, If only for the lyrics and the melody. |

I never heard any George or Paul solo album wholly, but heard some interesting Paul solo-songs and going to listen some of his seventies albums. John´s solos I have Imagine and Mind Games and they´re good, not as great as Beatles. Number 9 dream is very genius song!
