This is actually from Low's old site (see the wayback machine at archive.org). They redesigned the site a few years ago or actually moved on to a new designer, or however you want to put it. And these sections were taken out of the site. The previous webmistress created a new site for it, as it's a waste to throw all that info in the trashcan.

Thanks for that clip, _tunic_. I would love if a recording of that show would surface. In addition to that cover of "Purple Rain", Low was also joined by members of Tramped By Turtles and Dead Man Winter on a performance of "When I Go Deaf", according to that review. I imagine it must have been pretty epic.

Yeah, It was a bugger that all this info disappeared when the official website changed in 2005 (I think). I was really happy to see that Catherine Lewis brought back all of that valuable information not too long ago, and by the look of things, she might have the intention of adding even more stuff sometime in the future.

I know Jeroen had some problems to get in touch with the band: His e-mails he sent to Alan in regards to his intentions about that show in Utrecht had not gotten a reply just a few days prior to Low's visit to The Netherlands in November. The band was on tour at the time, so maybe that's the reason why. I never knew for sure what happened, but I sort of came to the conclusion that it wouldn't materialize (probably due to the fact that I am a hopeless pessimist most of the time), and never asked Jeroen about it, until just now after seeing your post (I have sent him a message on facebook, hopefully he'll reply).

No matter if you actually torrent that one or not (although I'd be interested in it despite whatever flaws it might have), my gratefulness to you for all your efforts in regards to document through taping and distributing live recordings of Low and Retribution Gospel Choir especially, doesn't have any boundaries. I'd love to see them one day, but meanwhile, I do appreciate every live recording I can get my paws on, even if they are possibly just a vague representation of the live awesomeness (I certainly wish there were more in circulation).

Yeah, I am aware of Actual Wolf and look forward to the record. I've been checking out his youtube channel constantly. Twitter not so much, as I don't have an account. I also keep track of his posts on facemook. Actual Wolf is going to be on The Playlist next week in case you are unaware (though it seems both of us aren't lucky to have a chance to watch this due to our respective locations in the planet), here's info stolen from his facebook, posted just yesterday:

Heading up to La Casa Del Sparhawk to record two new tunes for the Actual Wolf Band EP. "Turning 25" and "Cry, Cry, Cry"... Also, excited to start rehearsing that group next week in Minneapolis. YEAH!!!! Just a few reminders... I'll be playing on The Playlist Thursday February 9th @ 9pm. Then I'll be playing the Thirsty Pagan Solo on Friday February !0th. I'll be posting it in events this week. Can't wait to play with The Cavalier Crooks on Saturday at The Beat Coffeehouse in Uptown. It's an All Ages Show and it starts at 7:00pm. You're actually very close here, it was Noel Galagher. They might get a second chance, rumor said this spring.

Listening to the Christmas EP now. It's minus 15 Celcius and covered in snow here. But even in summer times, this is one of my favourite Low albums.

Those Cavalier Crooks are quite good, sounds even more like Cream than RGC does.

_tunic_, I do hope it's true that Low will be on Jools Holland when they go back to the UK in the spring. I've seen some dull acts lately, that should change. Lana Del Rey has performed there, but not Low.

Yeah, "Christmas" is a great record no matter the context. Hope you are enjoying the winter. I've been watching European football today and sort of feel sorry that those guys have to play under those conditions. Brrrr.... It's kind of hot here in Mexico, but maybe I'll give "Christmas" a spin today as well.

I also found The Cavalier Crooks very enjoyable. Also, I think I read somewhere that Eric Pollard was recording something with another band from Duluth called Manheat, but I just can't find a link to prove it.

Low benefit concert for Life House on The PlayList.
The band includes lead vocalist, songwriter and guitar front-man, Alan Sparhawk; Mimi Parker lends her talents on drums and vocals; and Steve Garrington adds rhythmic bass guitar and keyboard. Low’s music is often referred to as “slowcore,” a subgroup of the more widely known rock music genre. While the group isn’t a fan of that label, they were one of the first bands to adopt and popularize this music style. Discover the band’s roots, minimalistic approach to music and the personal stories of these talented musicians in this special episode of The PlayList.

This past fall, Low and Charlie Parr joined forces to raise funds, and awareness for homeless youth of the Duluth area. Please, if someone can rip the .mp3s and share them through Wetransfer or whatever, I would appreciate it greatly. The first song, "Liar" (not "Lair" as listed on the website), was formerly thought to be lost, according to Alan Sparhawk.

Actually, I just went to take a look to trustlow.com and I'm now certain it wasn't "Liar" the one song that got lost from this session. According to Alan, they played also a version of "Last Breath" on that session, but it got erased by accident. In any case, "Liar" remains such a treat as it is still a rarity, I don't think there's evidence of Low doing many more performances of this song.

When you can play the streaming audio, all went well. And I'm hearing it now
You could change the keywords if you want, by adding semicolons ( ; ) in between them.
As long as there's no spaces in the filenames, uploading to LMA works quite fluently. But with spaces in the filenames, they get removed, and then the md5 checksum fails because the files have been renamed ... Which is what just happened to me (I'm uploading a couple of Vic Chesnutts). So you did better than me :-)

Thanks, man. I didn't realize I messed it up with the keywords, but I'm gonna try to fix it. I'm uploading rappard's recording of Evangelista now (which I seeded to dime a few weeks ago) and then I plan to upload some installments of the Avantgarde Project that I have in my collection, and which aren't on archive at the moment.
