william hookers cover of becuz is on his the distance between us album. and there's actually 2 different version of becuz on there, dimension 1 and dimension 2. damn good cd over all as well. and that go team cover of bull in the heather is awesome.

The Blur guy, if it's who I'm thinking of, did Eliminator Jr. Beck I think has done Diamond Sea in some form or another. At Lollapalooza or something.

Nels Cline and Glenn Kotche played an amazing instrumental version of "Karen Koltrane" at Cafe Du Nord in San Francisco, CA on February 26th, 2007.

The Yeah Yeah Yeahs covered "The Diamond Sea" for an itunes-exclusive EP a while ago. Pretty far away from the majesty of the original. They didn't have the balls to venture into the improvisational territory.

Have you got it? Can you upload it? I'm still trying to get it myself. I played it (both versions) several times on the radio in Olympia years ago, and all I have is old cassettes of those radio shows. I'd love to have an mp3 as much as everyone else (at least until I can afford the record, which I've wanted for years).

I recently obtained this song via snail mail trade, it came as filler on a CD-R containing the Cat Power Planet Claire Session at Radio Alegre FM 93.1 in France on June 3rd, 2000. Since the session is actually pretty short (three songs only), the trader i obtained this show from added a compilation of rare tracks to fill up the disc. I just now thought that it'd be a good idea to rip this song from the CD-R and upload it to Sendspace just in case you or somebody else would want to give it a listen.

On topic, I don't think I've ever heard a SY cover that I really enjoyed.
