I think you'll find that if you do a little follow-up on my tip, that this is a little less speculative that your earlier posts and that it does, in fact, seem to reflect some of the latest info.

But ultimately this thread lies clearly in the realm of speculation, so you acting like I "own" the copied and pasted info and back it unconditionally just because I posted it is rather peculiar, but then again, you've always behaved rather peculiarly.

Also, I fail to see why I get called out by shitbag tesla69 for simply adding extra information to the thread. When others added info, everybody was fucking and sucking each other. Go back and read the thread.

And as to CBS' 60 Minutes...it's an internationally-respected program; everyone knows this. Although they do sometimes sensationalize a story slightly with the way it's edited, the information (if you have any sense) is usually there and relevant.

And the story didn't excuse Monsanto, they just weren't specifically mentioned. The neonicatanoid pesticide that Bayer makes was only cited as part of a new theory. The sources on the show were also saying that bees, in general, are in poor health due to other insecticides and pesticides, and I'm fairly sure Monsanto must make some of those.

Although it's possible that CBS did not mention one word about Monsanto specifically because of some corporate conflict of interest, so I agree, it is possible.

Flowers Are Losing Their Smell

Air Pollution Is Destroying the 'Scent Trail' That Leads Insects to Plants, Scientists Say

By LEE DYE
April 16, 2008

Air pollution is killing the smell of flowers, possibly eliminating the "scent trail" that helps guide those terribly important pollinators, like bees, to the plants that depend upon them for survival, scientists believe.

The discovery could be one of several factors in the "colony collapse disorder" that is wiping out honey bees around the world.
While it is still too soon to determine the full impact of air pollution on the symbiotic relationship between insects and the flowers they pollinate, researchers at the University of Virginia are confident they have shown that pollutants are killing the scent trail, and that could turn out to be extremely significant.
Before the industrial revolution, the trail extended at least half a mile from the flower, but today at that distance "it's almost completely destroyed," said Quinn McFrederick, a doctoral candidate in biology at the university and lead author of a study that in the current issue of the journal Atmospheric Environment.

...

Scientists have known for some time that airborne chemicals like ozone, hydroxyl and nitrate radicals -- major components of smog -- alter the chemicals produced by flowers that give them a specific smell. But it had not been known how that affected the trail that helps lead insects to the flowers.

Scents that could travel for more than half a mile in the 1800s now probably travel less than about 600 feet, according to Jose D. Fuentes, professor of environmental sciences at the university and a co-author of the study.
"This makes it increasingly difficult for pollinators to locate the flowers," Fuentes said.
In a telephone interview, McFrederick said that the scent trail deteriorates even very close to the flowers, and that could discourage insects, especially bees and moths, from even sampling the flower to see if it contains the nectar they need for survival. And if they pass up the flower, it will not receive the pollination it needs. So both the pollinator and the pollinated suffer.

The slang derogatory term "shitbag" is a variant of "dirtbag," "douchebag," "scumbag" or "sleezebag."
I think, and this is just a guess, that "dirtbag" probably came first; then again, maybe "scumbag" has that distinction.
Then you've got your slimeballs and sleezeballs too.
And with "scum" there's scum-sucker and scum-sucking. I choose to hypenate those for some reason. I think "scum" is the one that goes best with "bucket" as in "scumbucket." Dont' you agree? I suppose any of this slang could be expanded into two separate words too. Wow, excuse me, I'm getting way off track...you were writing...so I'll get back to that...

I've not once defended Monsanto in this thread...not once. This is the site thread about Colony Collapse Disorder. I posted a related article. As far as your own behavioral disorders, tesla69, consult a physician.

Personally, I believe that it seems highly likely that there are a myraid of factors contributing to CCD.
You even posted yourself about sunspot activity as a possible supplementary catalyst.

You're intentionally attempting to vilify me even though we agree for the most part on this issue. And you're doing this because you're some UFO nut with paranoid delusions that I am some bot or whatever.

U.S. Officials Probe W.Va. Plant Explosion

INSTITUTE, W.Va. -- Federal officials are investigating the cause of a plant explosion that rocked an area west of Charleston, hurling a fireball hundreds of feet into the air, killing one worker and injuring a second.
A State Department of Environmental Protection spokeswoman, Kathy Cosco, said the primary chemical involved at the Bayer CropScience plant, methyl isobutyl ketone, is highly flammable but not especially toxic.
Air monitoring found no signs of chemical exposure on or off the site, about 10 miles west of Charleston, after the blast late Thursday, Bayer said.
A five-member team from the U.S. Chemical Safety and Hazard Investigation Board, a federal agency charged with investigating industrial chemical accidents, planned to deploy at the site Friday.

By Sabine Vollmer, Raleigh News & Observer Tue Aug 26, 2:28 PM ET

RALEIGH, N.C. — Bayer CropScience is facing scrutiny because of the effect one of its best-selling pesticides has had on honeybees. A German prosecutor is investigating Werner Wenning , Bayer's chairman, and Friedrich Berschauer , the head of Bayer CropScience , after critics alleged that they knowingly polluted the environment. The investigation was triggered by an Aug. 13 complaint filed by German beekeepers and consumer protection advocates, a Coalition against Bayer Dangers spokesman, Philipp Mimkes, said Monday.

The complaint is part of efforts by groups on both sides of the Atlantic to determine how much Bayer CropScience knows about the part that clothianidin may have played in the death of millions of honeybees. ...Clothianidin and related pesticides generated about $1 billion of Bayer CropScience's $8.6 billion in global sales last year. The coalition is demanding that the company withdraw all of the pesticides.

"We're suspecting that Bayer submitted flawed studies to play down the risks of pesticide residues in treated plants," said Harro Schultze , the coalition's attorney. "Bayer's ... management has to be called to account, since the risks ... have now been known for more than 10 years." ...On the other side of the Atlantic, the Natural Resources Defense Council is pressing for research information on clothianidin.

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency approved the pesticide in 2003 under the condition that Bayer submit additional data. A lawsuit, which the environmental group filed Aug. 19 in federal court in Washington , accuses the EPA of hiding the honeybee data.[/font]

this was news to me

"Russian FSB reports further state that this Bayer Bio Weapons plant was utilized by US War Leaders for the mass production of diacetylmorphine (heroin) from their vast poppy controlled fields in Afghanistan, and which the Taliban had managed to eradicate prompting the US invasion of their country, to further fill their coffers in their never-ending quest for total World domination, and which Bayer had invented in 1898."

I had this theory that human beings were being ground up and served in Campbell's bean soup cans, but every research university in the country rejected my application for graduate study in this area.

But just you wait. You'll see.

It's a different issue, but the same company (obviously) makes the controversial substance.
