Obviously they didn't really notice, because they would have taken even MORE notice, and then after enough time, been a bit more involved, at the least, calling the cops more than a single time. If I see some crazy shit like a naked girl in my neighbors backyard, or some unexplainable small children, I may call the cops, I may not, but either way, I got my fucking EYE on that place, and so over a TEN year period, I'd be bound to notice all the more what is happening. In the hood, everybody knows everybody, and everybody sees everything. Even in the vilest street situations, generally speaking, naked women in backyards and unexplainable small children warrant further investigation, even if siding with the law if not taking matters into their own hands, which is sort of what both tesla's thread seems to suggest, and yet which clearly didn't happen. Me? I think these things are so fucking crazy that we shouldn't politicize it one way or the other. Did the police fuck up? Yeah. But it seems like 50 other people consistently fucked up in connection. Do police fuck up? Yeah. Do I trust them more than half the assholes in America to resolve serious crime? Yes indeed, and believe, that sounded weirder saying it then you might think, but reality is reality, and vigilantism is worse than law enforcement. I support a less-armed society, and that includes disarming the police as well, but clearly that opinion is shat upon by most of the locals here so meh..

I guess living in NYPD I do take their professionalism for granted and focus on the negative. This was awhile ago, in 1988 Lisa and Rachel Suckdog visited and we had a crazy jam session, the police showed up not because of noise but because someone heard a woman screaming. When I stopped laughing the cops refused to leave without speaking to the women.

If they are not charging the brothers it is likely because the victims did not (or could not) identify anyone else but the main dude.
