I must have tuned in at a bad moment because I could barely hear anything decipherable.

This is not Zaireeka II. Zaireeka was a collection of really, really good songs, that the Lips decided to slice up and over-complicate and sell for twice (thrice) the price of a normal album.

Individually, and when combined into one "track", it's one of their best albums.

Hmmmm.... Yeah, still not sold on this at all or the band in general. How about an EP or something of fully realized concepts as opposed to showing you're avant garde with giving away weird music.

I totally agree.

It's like- OK, we get it. You're WEIRD. You're the WEIRDEST band EVER.

Now knock it the fuck off and make a goddamn album. One with the pretty little acid-pop songs you're famous for.

As "innovative" and "enigmatic" as all this showy bullshit is, it's still showy bullshit, and it represents possibly the worst music the band has ever made. I liked "I Found a Star..", but even that was a stretch.

Just make another fucking sweet Soft Bulletin-like album and come back down to Earth. Please. With all due respect.

It played for 24 hours on my computer. Granted, the speakers where turned down to zero while my wife and kids slept and I was at work, but it did play for over 24 hours. I enjoyed "dropping in" at various points. I would love to have a DL of this on my MP3 player so I could listen as my time allows. I would love to see them do a SYR type series with something like this.

Almost perfect for surfing the net and reading SYG!

Yeah, I agree and I'm the biggest Lips fan I've ever met.

They're fucking with us. On one hand it's absurdly funny, on the other hand it's completely polarizing. Deliberately taking the piss, just like you said.

I'm not on board with this. It would be cool as just a free stream, but not as a $5000 human skull. They're making it sound like it's a serious project, but it's just a multi-thousand dollar fuck-around, that will force at least a few retardedly devoted Lips fans to break the bank.

me too!!!!!!! I was even growing up during thier hayday, but they r really a band that you r sort of hesitant to love. After a few listens you are hopelessly in love.
