Six Organs of Admittance. I saw them live a couple weeks ago and it was oneof those moments where the song(s) was/were acoustic and semi-normal, aside from some non-standard tunings. Then out of nowhere this chick starts slamming into the guitar and it just makes you feel good to be alive. Most of the songs they played were off of 'Shelter from The Ash', and I had heard the album, but the 'noise guitar' was never so pronounced as when I saw them live, it reminded me of when my brother loses control.

rhys chatham, glenn branca (both of them get a duh), tabata mara, weasel walter (when he plays guitar), ditto keiji haino, greg ginn (on stuff like process of weeding out hes total noise guitar), oren ambarchi, ted falconi, helios creed, thatll do for now.

It's probably not noise-rock in the traditional sense of the word, probably more similar to the British Shoegazer stuff, but check out Krayg Burton and his band Film School, its a less intense sound but sublime stuff.
