Hi everybody!

Yesterday Belgium played France. 0-0.
I hadn't seen the continental red devils in a while and they do have quite a team.
The main surprise for me was Kevin De Bruyne, a terrific winger. I'm glad Mourinho's kept him and I hope he'll use him. Chelsea have a very strong team, and I'd say I hope they win the PL. Lukaku was no real threat though, due to Koscielny's excellent match - bar a foul in the closing minutes.
For Spurs: new signing Chadli wasn't as impressive as Fellaini, but he's not fielded on the most rewarding position. Lloris saved twice or thrice, but was close to committing a couple bloopers, which never happened to him before.

US put the smack down on Bosnia yesterday, pulling off a hat trick with Altidore having one of the best games of his career! Fantastic! The A-squad starters seemed rusty, and the guys from the more recent Gold Cup were definitely playing better, but by the second half readjustments everything improved. In fact, that suspension of Klinsmann is why we only beat Panama 1-0. We struggled to score because we didn't have those magical Jurgen readjustments. Most of the past 12 games we've won (what a great streak!!) we came back stronger in the second half than the first. Bosnia match is just continuing of the same. I'm also pissed, I got used to a less risk prone goal keeper during the Gold Cup, but now that Tim is back, big fucking surprise, he took big risks which cost TWO FUCKING GOALS for Bosnia. Jurgen needs to get in Howard's ear and tell him, "Tim, you're a great goal keeper, but I'm taking you of the first-team if you don't start playing smarter, less athletic heroics." Its ALWAYS been a problem for us, when Tim is hot, we're winning games, but he consistently takes risks, like diving for balls or running way out of the box after balls, its like dude, enough! That's not your job bro!!! And its cost us A LOT of games!!!

Excited for the start of the premiership today.

This is how my predictor came out on the bbc's website

1) Manchester City
2) Chelsea
3) Man Utd
4) Tottenham
5) Arsenal
6) Liverpool
7) Swansea
8) Everton
9) West Brom
10) West Ham
11) Fulham
12) Southampton
13) Newcastle
14) Aston Villa
15) Cardiff
16) Norwich
17) Sunderland
18) Stoke
19) Crystal Palace
20) Hull

I think it will be very close between Chelsea and Manchester City this season. Moyes will have a decent first season in charge of United and will finish third.
Tottenham will edge Arsenal for 4th this season.

Not sure how well Martinez will do Everton, could see them dropping down into the mid table pack.

I think Cardiff will stay up and have a fairly decent season.

Stoke, Palace and Hull to get relegated.

Didn't realize it started today......if anyone has any wagering tips, please pass it along.

EDIT: Just stumbled a stream of wolfsburg vs schalke. Checked my online site and they offered live in game wagering. Just took under 0.5 goals for +175

Hey Hey Hey - this wager just won me $27

Placed $5 of those winnings on wolfsburg vs schalke goal to be scored between the 61-65 minutes.

I'm streaming the game via Sky......the Breaking Bad commercial in German was great!

I also have the ARS vs AVL broadcast on my TV, but I can't find a way to "live bet" this game

i haven't been able to watch yet, but it looks like bayern was able to eke out a 1-0 over eintracht frankfurt (who lost something like 6-1 last week) in spite of the overabundance of fucking galácticos. this, i learned, with the help of a blind ref who disallowed a perfectly valid frankfurt goal. i'm seeing that guardiola kept his bizarre 4-1-4-1 (4-3-3 per ZM's description) and started shaqiri on the right wing (???)

Rubbish performance by West Brom today. We seriously need to invest and buy some quicker players. Seriously lacking any pace.

You're right, but it's an unusual situation. It's not often that a manager's replaced straight after winning the CL. It's not even the same as the Chelsea scenario, where DiMatteo freakily led a troubled side to the title. Bayern had evolved into probably the strongest side in Europe with a formula that definitely had at least another couple of seasons in it. But Heynckes has gone, and I do believe Bayern's future is in better hands with Pep even if their current period of transition might be a bit premature.

A touchline ban wouldn't have stopped Klinsmann making his 'magical readjustments'. He's allowed to communicate with the dugout during the game, just not physically sit there. It's one of the most pointless, ineffective 'punishments' in football.

Early doors, obviously, but Cardiff looked terrible against West Ham. I thought they'd be the promoted side most likely to stay up but I'm not sure now. I hate the idea of all the promoted sides going straight back down but it could be the case.

he's not "my" manager. i'm not german and i've never been to munich. he's a manager-- who may be great or might just destroy everything that's good and holy in bayern. he neglects the defense, overdoses on midfielders, and hires tiny men (gotze, thiago).

just learned that javi martinez came back in sorry shape from playing for spain, so okay, it wasn't guardiola's doing he didn't play last weekend. but moving that mule back from midfield to defense is such a waste. yes he can play defense. but he was fucking *extraordinary* as a holding midfielder last year and now pep wants schweinsteiger to be alone there. hmmff...

anyway, bla bla bla. etc. i have feared pep from the start. i also know that heynckes had consolidated his formula and wasn't offering variations, so a change was needed-- but what a formula! so maybe it's a good thing in the long run though if it ain't broke don't fix it. if pep is only interested in transforming bayern into barça II then he deserves to go down in flames and i'll clap while he burns. but it's too soon to tell. i'm just saying, i'm beyond skeptical at this point, i'm straight-up suspicious.

anyway, if he fails, there's still jurgen klopp who likes fast, aggressive football and gets his team to punch way above its weight. haven't had the chance to watch dortmund yet (hopefully soon) but i'm looking forward to see how they've recovered from their personnel losses (sounds like they are doing fine without gotze-- hA!).

Quite seriously, if you're looking for a potentially exciting, all guns blazing English side to follow (as opposed to 'supporting', as such), you might want to keep an eye on Man City. It's obviously too early to draw any conclusions but I just watched them against Newcastle and they were phenomenal! We'll need to see them against stronger opposition (Newcastle were pretty awful) but if they can maintain that level of intensity for the rest of the season they'll be a genuine force, and great to watch. Although they seem to have lost Kompany again to some kind of groin injury so who knows when he'll be back. Going forward though they look terrifying.

Yeah, it's too early to say for sure and we'll get a better idea when they play a better team than Newcastle but they really seem up for it. They were almost sadistic in the way they went about their win. None of that "we've won, so lets take things a bit easy". Dzeko alone should've scored three or four and only Krul stopped it from being a total humiliation. It's as though Pellegrini's finally let them off the leash. And we still haven't really seen their big new signings yet. Not to mention the rumour they're gonna sign Pepe before the window shuts, too. The Suarez haters are gonna have a seizure if he comes to the Prem. Suchfriends will probably try and assassinate the fucker. As much as I hate him (Pepe, not Suchfriends) I'd love to see him here.

oh hell yeah, i'm curious about what pellegrini can do with a team like that. only problem here is a cable networks shuffle, i don't even know where to watch the prem anymore. wtf is "nbc sports" and "fox 1".

so suarez didn't go to arsenal after all? a real pity because he's just what arsenal needed last year. this year i really have no clue.

Well given the knobhead offer Arsenal gave to Liverpool it's no surprise they didn't give him up. So who do Arsenal try to buy Cabaye? A good player sure. But to offer 10mil (he's gotta be worth a little bit more than that) is just silly and it also seems a bit desperate, like they've closed their eyes on a list of midfielders and picked one at random.
And to go even further, given how at the beginning of summer they were saying they were gonna spend BIG (sure they've said this for the last few seasons) and they've spent piss all. They can spend on good players but for some BIZZAREO reason Wenger doesn't want to.

Pepe playing in the Premier League would rule so hard.

I'll be amazed if Arsenal renew Wenger's contract next summer. He should move into national team coaching so he doesn't have to deal with the market anymore. Either that or go somewhere with more of a director of football type set-up. As a traditional manager I think he's had his day but as a coach I still think he's got plenty to offer.

EDIT: The more I think about Moyes, the more I think he's another manager (in the old sense) who'd work better in a coaching role, leaving the transfer dealings to someone else.
