He's been rehabilitated to an extent in the last several years... but apparently his playing has gone to Hell (and he's STILL a few screws loose). Fucking Grateful Dead ruined him to begin with, thanks to their shit LSD.

every interview with fahey I've watched, he seems out of his mind or he has some disease. Also, in his later years, he would forget the names of his songs, play them, uh, differently live... and always wear sunglasses indoors. Probably had a lot to do with his alcoholism, but supposedly he was pretty, uh, "eccentric" his whole life...
