I'm doing a speech on the beginning of punk and we need 3 audio/visual aids and I wanted to use a New York Dolls song but I could only find three and I thought maybe someone here could give me some suggestions or maybe send me a song that has a good beginning (first 30 seconds is all I can really play) and that is school appropriate. Also other suggestions on things I should mention/maybe another song I could play. I plan on also playing a Velvet Underground and Patti Smith OR Slits song.
I'm presenting Thursday BTW.

The NYD songs I have are Pirate Love, Trash and Stranded In The Jungle.

If you had to play one of those three, I'd say "Trash". If you're looking for archetypes (usually the best idea for a speech) I'd seek out "Personality Crisis".

Definitely personality crisis if you're using the NYD.

Depending on your definition of punk, its beginnings and cultural influnces, you might consider stooges or mc5, cbgb's scene such as television, ramones (who had a big influence on the London scene when they first played) etc, and of course early UK punk such as pistols - opening bars of anarchy surely part of your archetypal list - clash, damned, buzzcocks.
