I was expecting a ton of NIN bashing but was quite surprised that there hasn't been much on this thread, at least so far. I myself am not as into them as I was when I was in high school. I still think thier first three albums were pretty good. "Pretty Hate Machine" has good songs but isn't amazing, "Broken" I think is really great, and "DS" is good too. I didn't get into thier last two albums as much, but every NIN album usually has a handful of good songs on it. Most NIN haters will say just listen to Skinny Puppy, since Trent just pretty much bites off of them. That's my two cents for what its worth.

downward spiral is great. also the singles around that album to are wonderful. i think they are on the expanded release thing. the fragile is also great. with teeth is ok, not crap but ok. the live dvd is awesome as is the audio version im sure although i havent heard it yet. broken / fixed is also top notch. pretty hate machine, boring tripe. too steeped in "the firs album hysteria". its poor, in the same way bleach is a poor nirvana album!

my advice....
u got downward. go get broken / fixed, then with teeth then fill the gaps!

I'll have to check out those new songs. I'm hoping that the new album will be pretty brutal, but I doubt that will happen since it was mainly recorded on Trent's labtop in the comfort of his pimped out tour bus.

Totally forgot to check back on this post...anyway...

The gig was totally amazing, and think I let myself go a little more than usual as I was on my own...I quite like the idea of being on my own, didn't have too keep checking that my girlfriend was ok! Also, I was able to tryout some funky new dance moves (only joking!)

The set was so tight, and the performance was really amazing, just totally full on.

I can't wait for the new album, have you been following all the ARG stuff? quite a cool way of marketing the new record!

like the new songs too in particular Survivalism and The Begining of the End, its an exciting time for NIN fans.

people who think trent reznor is a noise artist is totally retarded.

however, you can hear shades of nin on wolf eyes, yellow swans and prurient, even if they are not influenced directly.
