Yes, I do remember Bukowski criticising Rourke in Barfly.

But I later saw an interview with him in which he praised it as being perfect and such an accurate portrayal of him that it took him back to those days.

perhaps Bukowski's viewpoint wavered, depending on how much he'd had to drink that day.

Another Al Pacino film I would place in my top twenty is Looking for Richard, but as it is mostly documentary in style I wasn't sure if I counted it as a 'film' as such. It is without question the best introduction to Shakespeare.

My memories from the Big Red One are quite remote.
It seemed really quiet, which was kinda strange for a war movie; but it was more a film about people who had found a way of keeping their sanity during rough times, if I'm not completely off topic.
Quiet and luminous.
To see this one and Apocalypse Now in a row would make you think.

Huh, I've never had any trouble with that. It seems like the cruddiness sort of lends to what Linkletter was doing, but it could be remastered o.k., if they left the background noise, but separated it better.

I remember fondly being in line for the world premiere of Dazed and Confused in Seattle at the Neptune theater. It was like being in Slacker listening to all these hardcore Linkletter fans talking to each other.

Yeah... J&SBSB is my favorite though. In order of favortism I've seen:

1) Jay and Silent Bob...
2) Clerks
3) Dogma
4) Clerks 2
5) Mall Rats
6) Chasing Amy

I feel bad for the chasing Amy movie because I was expecting something similiar to the first three on my list, but it really wasn't like anything he'd done before.

Is Jersy Girl as terrible as everyone said it was?
