10 days in Berlin over August, jesus- I know I'm going to enjoy this city alot, but in reality I have no idea what to visit. Interests- contempary art gallerys, cheap (alternative-ish) drink holes and clubs. sights to see, blah blah, anyone know more about this city than i do! ?

i used to live there so know the city pretty well. where are you staying? there are quite a few nice areas to visit, good bars and cafe's can be found all over the place. prenzlauer berg is nice (eberswalder stasse on the u2 line) and kastanien allee has lots to see and plenty of record shops, mitte around hackerscher markt has tonnes to see, friedrichshain is very nice and has dense records which is one of the best and it also has a shit load of bars and nice cafe's etc, then there is kreuzberg (bergman strasse) has lots to see. the tourist stuff is all very close together centered around unter den linded so just wander around there for the sight seeing stuff but be sure to go to the 'museum isle' that is just off unter den linden and has lots to see too. if you wanna know anything specific give me a shout. good luck.
