First,

It seems like most people are posting here (Non Sonic Sonics), but I'm trying to organize an "April Madness" in the main forum that will decide the greatest Sonic Youth song of all time. I think it will be really cool if more people get involved.

If this is a stupid idea and no one will participate, please let me know as well, as I don't want to waste my time.

Could people PLEASE give me some feedback on the seeds right not so no one is bitching later? Just make sure if you have a song that you think SHOULD be included that you name the song that it should replace. That way everyone will get a vote before it starts.

Also, please respond if a song should deserve a higher/lower seed.

Also, please give up an "AMEN" after listening to this... the worst song of all time??????

it certainly horrible but not the worst. i've heard worse! bad music goes as deep as the pits of hell... there is no limit...

about the other part-- i can't guarantee to be in your tournament-- but i vote for schizophrenia to win.

That is bad, but it is also funny. The very worst music is the music that is so bland you can't even be bothered to have an opinion on it.

Scratch that, the very utmost worstest music imaginable has been produced, unfalteringly, unremittengly and without mercy by u "fucking" 2

I'm always up for polls. I think there are two ways: either just ask people for thier favourite and count the votes, or ask people for a placed top three, and do 3 points for first, 3 points for second and 1 point for third. Extra work, but gives a good result and it's not like you'll be counting hundreds of votes. See if chabib will sticky it, too.

I did this topic as a pm poll on the old board (not using the top three method, rather lazily). I got about 40 votes, and we had a joint winner situation.

Another way would be to choose one of the options above, announce the winner, but also then put the top ten songs into a poll (as in the polls that you can create on this forum, where people click to vote). That would be good too.

How about the eliminator thing? Do it album by album so that whichever has the least votes off each album is, by proxy, everyone's favourite, and then have a deciding vote when you've got all of them.

[Apart from there're more than 10 albums... well, there must be some way of using polls for this... I think more people would be inclined to vote than by PM. Me, certainly]

yah those were the "survivor" threads from old days. i think a lot of us got burned out on them a long time ago. but for new boardies it might be fun.
