agreed. nice hallucinatory horror. but when im this out of it and in pain, some instant entertainment, such as the films of verhoeven, and some james cameron, is nice as well.

Kylie Minoise Fucking Loves You!
Kylie Minoise Fucking Hates You!
Two great things come out of Scotland; Kylie Minoise and Whisky. Whilst sipping a 10 year old Macallan I inhale the licorice fumes that gently singe the back of my nasal passage their fragrance released and enhanced by the addition of a smidgen of Highland Spring water. At the same time my shell likes are bombarded at all points by the fine return to form of Kylie Minoise. After the disappointment of ‘You Suffer’ [which I later discovered was some kind of elongated workout on a two second Napalm Death track] its great to see the man hitting the kind of heights experienced on the magnificent Spank Magic Lodge. And if you haven’t bought that release then do so now.
Despite sticking with one of the daftest names in noisebiz Kylie Minoise turns out some of the best noise related releases you could ever spend your hard earned crust on. The man is William Bennett, Holgar Czukay, Masami Akita, Akafumi Nakajima and probably half a dozen more notables all rolled into one. The noise tracks found amongst the 19 here are as good as you could wish for. They are genuinely visceral and genuinely shocking. My betting is that 90% of the people who hit the opening track of ‘Loves’ [Neck Brace Appreciation Club] are reaching for the volume dial within three seconds and not to turn it up. Its like being shot in the face with a blunderbuss. The last track of ‘Hates’ [Elsewhere With A Tranquil Shamlessness] is a sublime bowl ringing empty factory vibe that you could listen to until the petrol runs out. My only regret is that I have to leave these two releases to review something else. And besides, my glass is empty.

Hey, thanx a lot. really appreciate that. here's a couple more reviews...

Kylie Minoise - Fucking hates you [Kovorox Sound - 2008]
This is the first of two new releasers from Scottish noise maker Kylie Minoise(aka Lea Cummings) which shows him offering a varied, consistent and inventive collection of tracks that put him in the same draw as great noise makers like Merzbow, Lasse Marhaug & John Wiese.
The disk takes in 11 tracks and comes in just short of the hour mark with a few of my favourite moments and a good idea of the scope of sound covered here would be; Yankuza Vampire Foetus which is built around a looped and feedback amassed organ tone and ranted vocals beneath the surface, it builds up this great wall of sound that’s suffocating yet atmospheric with Cummings nicely building tension with accelerated tones with-in the mass of sound. Skins of the fathers starts up with a grim, grey and bizarrely groovy industrial rhythmic loop and builds up -layers of crowd like chants, toning atmospheric synth patterns and slight noise fuzzed textures. Beatnik Wanton sounds like an electric saw sound slowed down then cut up into layers of pushing pulse like textures which nicely slice into your brain. And finishing off the album we have the epic 22 minute track Elsewhere with a Tranquil Shamelessness, which starts off with thick ‘n’ sinister droning string like textures. Before building up a slow throbbing noise purr which sounds like it’s coming from a guitar- which grows and grows in depth and noise. With Cummings building atmosphere, tension and brutality in a very satisfying manner. Before mid-way dropping out into rather haunted and sinister drones cape expanse, which sounds like he's utilizing muffed and stretched out bell like harmonic tones. It rather settles nicely around you like harmonic yet creepy sound fog.
With out doubt both of these disks are one highlights of this years noise releasers with Cummings building clever, brutal and often atmospheric tracks through-out. Really both disks are must buys – even if you have only a passing interest in the noise genre.

Kylie Minoise - Fucking Loves You [Kovorox Sound - 2008]
This is the second of two releasers from Scottish noise maker Kylie Minoise(aka Lea Cummings) which shows him offering a varied, consistent and inventive collection of tracks which puts him in the same draw as great noise makers like Merzbow, Lasse Marhaug & John Wiese.
The album takes in 8 tracks and comes in around the 50 minute mark and much like the first disk Kylie Minoise Fucking loves you it offers up loads of sonic variation, mayhem and atmosphere. Opening up the album we have Neck brace Art Appreciation Club which opens with a harsh galloping static tone that slowly opens up into this harmonic drone organ texture. Before going into slowed chopping noise beats, junky matter and horror organ harmonics- the track wonderfully balancing seething noise and atmospherics. Next up Organ donor scandal kicks in with a churning idustrlized indie rock type vibe giving a slowed down Jesu like vibe.
The continued pursuit of novelty opens with a hellish amped-up grateing glass like tone, before dropping into noise infested spacey like drone muisc. Giving the feeling akin to been taken back to alien space craft for experiments, before it kicks in with a sludgy guitar riff and singeing noise matter. And just like Kylie Minoise Fucking loves you this ends with another epic 22 minute track entitled The lords of Astral projection beyond the golden light blessing everyone of us with joy. Which starts up with a rumbling thick noise air with weird wooden vibe like settling and taping on top of it, as this progresses it becomes more tense, haunted. At about the mid-way point a sad harmonic stuck textured circles out and the original elements lessens- it soundis almost a bit Russian in origin full with cold despair. Before the track builds up to a mournful guitar drone flecked with noise matter ending.
With out doubt both of theses disks are highlights of these years noise releasers with Cummings building clever, brutal and often atmospheric tracks through-out. Really both disks are must buys, even if you have only a passing interest in the noise genre. Through I think this one is my favourite of the pair as it adds in more surprising and atmospheric elements- really mixing atmosphere and noise wonderfully.
