So, I'd like to share my opinion that Willie Wonka is an evil capitalist propaganda film intended to brainwash children into being good citizens.

We start out with a poor, innocent child whose family can hardly afford to buy him candy...ironically, this child's dream is to visit the factory where candy is mass-produced by a wealthy corporation, and visit "the man."

Once inside, we find that children in this factory are tortured simply for being who they are, and subjected to frightening orange midgets known as oompa loompas, whose purpose is to make the children obey "the man." Of course, our poor child star does exactly as he is told until he is a slave of the corporation.

He thinks he has won, but he only become a pawn in the endless cycle of the "haves" and "have nots," which will exist until capitalism is destroyed and the ideas of state and ownership forever abolished. If there were any beauty or truth in this film, the poor families would burn the factory and put Willie Wonka to death.

...oh and I won't be seeing the new version, since I heard that Johnny Depp looks and talks exactly like Michael Jackson--further evidence that anything associated with this film is pure evil.

Daycare, I swear to God yr insane. If there is any message in the movie, it is that the poor, working class will get what they deserve in the end. Charlie and his family work their asses off for very little money while the rest of the world passes them by and doesn't do shit for them. So when finally Charlie has the chance to better his lot in life he takes it. Wanka punishes the children not for behaving in their natural way, but because their parents and society have turned them into spoiled, greedy, nasty little brats. The other kids in the movie represent what is wrong in society: greed, gluttony, laziness etc.

The theory that Willy is "The Man" is baseless as well. We can only assume that Wonka is independently wealthy because of his genius and revolutionary takes on the candy industry. I beleive in the original book it portrays Wonka as a humble small shop keeper. He rewards Charlie and his family for their hard work and values. The Bucket family is a kind, decent, hard working, loving family that gives back to the community from which they take so very little. Wonka recognizes their good spirits and rewards them with comfort and wealth. And candy. End of story.

If Wonka were so kind-hearted, he would disavow the idea of ownership and free the poor from the evils of the capitalist class system. All he succeeds in doing is making Charlie into a helpless cog in the wheel.

Hey Willie Wanka and the chocolate factory is the best.I saw the first one and the second one.I liked them both. From my point of view I have to agree with Kingcoffee.Fuck, society always turns a blind eye on the poor unless they have money. Hard working people always get something good in the end. It may not have a big impact to society but it does, too the hardworking men and women and their families.

Dudes have a sense of humour will you! Plus im not sure I can trust anyone thats called 'Bucket'.If Wonka really cared about the poor people why didn't he employ the local people of the town? Instead instead of inslaving those poor little oompa loompas? His business practices are certainly un-ethical. I wonder what health and safety would think of this Factory? How is he allowed to continue trading, when no one can see inside, god knows what our friend Mr Wonka is putting in those chocolates!

the book was written by roald dahl. he didnt really like children too much apparantly, at least not spoilt children and little fuckers with no discipline.
all his books involved children getting mistreated in some way. either nice children with bad parents who win in the end or bad children who end up as they do in the film.
the story is making the point of too many stupid spoilt brats with shitty parents who let them get away with murder, which dahl hated, and so do i for that matter. the good kid always wins in the end..not like real life where the good kids get stomped and the bad kids get to go around treating everyone like shit and get away with it.
who doesnt hate horrible little brats? he was probably trying to influence kids to behave better, which i can see nothing wrong with.
the book was wrote in the 60's or 70's i think, and now walk around a town or city in england and see the little fuckers with no respect for anyone or anything. id send em to wonkas factory and have turned into big blueberrys!
