none of my cd's get scratches from napkins....? anyways. i chose cds cos there alot easier to a) store b) listen to c) buy where i am. i love vinyl, and i love the sound of tapes and the hiss both vinyl and tapes make, and i love recording to tape, but when it comes down to it, i prefer cds because they tend to be a bit cheaper, (not always the case) easier to store, cos you don't have to worry about putting them on there sides... y'know.... and you can bring 'em in yr car...tapes can be, but not the car i ride in. and i dion't own r2r, but i do own a couple of 8track tapes... no 8track player though, which is alright, there all like april wine and stuff.. dads

MP3 player: Commuting etc.
Compact Disc: House or automobile.
Vinyl: House, for when I find a specific or interesting record when I'm scowling through secondhand record stores. I rarely (if at all) buy new vinyl. If it's a current band, then I'd prefer CD as most of the time they produce the sound for CD. If it's old bands, like jazz records etc, I prefer vinyl. And it's a great feeling finding vinyl/cd's seconmdhand.
Tape: Tape stuff off the radio, or listening to old tapes I bought when I was younger. Don't buy them.

I use all forms. I must say though, that I prefer analogue as opposed to digital when it comes to recording.

Cassettes 4 ever! Sadly, it's becoming hard to find my beloved Maxell XLII's. I have a tape deck installed in my car. I could've just got a cd player, but I got a tape deck installed. A tape deck installed in my car. A tape deck. Installed.

There is just something about the warmth and organic feel of analouge recordings as opposed to digital recordings, which might never achieve that same level of audio 'realness'. That said, digital audio is one of the greatest achievements of the 20th century.

Vinyl. I like reel to reels too.
My boyfriend insisted on installing a CD player in my car. I got mad. Real mad.

Did they find the body yet?

I love CDs, though. Vinyl's fine, but their size is annoying and you can't listen to them anywhere but at home. And I don't even have a record player here anymore, so I guess I can't fully appreciate them. Cassettes are cool to have, but I hate playing them. I'm always afraid they're going to get eaten.

I sometimes plug my portable CD player through a guitar amp, though, and certain gain settings, etc., give it a very record-like feel.
