I'm talking about the seattle show. And also, set lists are a guideline, not a finite thing. Bands throw in additional songs all the time, such as in this case.

Cool - No need for hostile tones, as this is really the first response I've gotten citing a source. I'll check out the concert. Appreciate the link!!!

haha, i knew you were gonna comment on my tone... the thing is, it had already been established earlier in the thread by myself and others (who were there!) that 'tunic' wasn't played, so there wasn't much cause for your tone to patrick. but fortunately we've figured it all out...

uuuhhh.. boise anyone? did they play something so devastating than jenn can no longer post?

i posted the boise thing earlier, jenn didn't mention what eternal songs they played

it's funny how whenever i say anything on this board it's either ignored or just doubted, almost all the time, i have only seen this band oh 30 times now, well i guess as in al things in life being ignored is just another quality trait

I, for one, pay lots of attention to your posts, Panto. I might not always comment back, but you're definitely one of the people on this board whose contributions pique my interest.

I haven't seen or listened to a show with it, but conceptually, I really like the idea of What We Know as one of the second encore pieces. Same with No Way as an opener and DV69 as a closer. Great sequencing going on this tour.

Also, Walkin Blue was one of my favorites on the Eternal and it's even better live. I really hope it stays in the rotation of Lee songs even after they've moved onto different material in a couple years. I could say more about the show, but my head kinda hurts...

Good god, the Denver show was great.

Which song was it when Kim was using the bow on her bass while she screamed like she was masturbating?

probably 'calming the snake' -- not a bow, it's a metal file. the type they use to calm snakes. in half.

well... Lee used a bow on his guitar on the pre-Sprawl jam, and Kim gave quite a scream during Death Valley, but you could also be thinking of the Calming the Snake moans like Chris said.

Denver was incredible, most people I've ever seen crammed into the Ogden and the most people I've seen at a Sonic Youth show. I totally agree with Eli's sentiments about Stereo opener and Walkin Blue, also Massage the History really gave me a feeling of this album joining the ranks of Sonic Greatness. and Death Valley Sixty Niiiiiine... incredible!

My friend who was with me at the STL show filmed the soundcheck on his digital camera and we were watching it, and I remembered that they had played that song, and I couldn't put my finger on what it was still, so I looked the lyrics up and sure enough, it was Skip Tracer. My buddy is working on getting the soundcheck up on YouTube currently. Anyhow, maybe they are going to start playing it soon or something, because when I saw them in Nashville, they soundcheck to Stereo Sanctity, and sure enough, it's become a set staple heh.

Maybe I'm out of the loop here, but what's the story with the Theresa's Sound World sign on Lee's amp? Was it just used to record the song? I thought maybe they were going to play it, but I guess it's a staple.

they considered doing it before this tour but as far as i know they never worked it out. the sign was used to convey a fan request and lee (cruelly!) gave it a permanent home on his amp. they haven't played it since 1993 but there's been talk over the years of revisiting it...
