And it depends on what you're used to. I grew up collecting LPs. Because I cut my teeth on LPs, CDs to me seemed sort of like a yuppified version of 8-tracks. Too small, too reductive, too techy. Plus a new vinyl LP just SMELLS so great. Go ahead, try it, take a big whiff of that thing just out of the shrink wrap and tell me it doesn't send a thrill.
Yeah, that should answer yr question, Alex's Trip.

Oh yes. Something else I've noticed about vinyl - although LPs require a little more concentration to keep them durable, CD's being so small mean it's a lot easier to be negligible of them. Basically, I haven't got a single knackered record (apart from a Patsy Cline LP, but that was because I lent it to an idiot) while I have plenty plenty broken CD's.

I, too, have plenty of broken CDs. Lots, all over the room.

That's true. I really have to remind myself to remove CDs from the player and put them back in the case and on the shelf. Whereas I don't ever leave a record sit on the turntable more than a few minutes after I play it--plus my table has a non-automatic arm, so I have to get up and manually lift the tone arm at the end of a side.

Exactly. I ocassionally leave a record on the deck over night, but as soon as something else goes on there it goes straight back into my nice Welsh dresser (no plastic boxes/ piles on the floor for me, thank you very much).

LPs over CDs. I still use tapes. I wear vintage clothing. My sunglasses are 50's and 60's styles. I find traintracks to be a preferable walkway.

I'm so retro, I don't even call it retro. So I can't answer the question.

Ditto. I am the same way.
