The guy at the River to River stand who checked my ID told me that they gave away reservations for 8,000 tickets! I was pretty fucking bummed at the thought of having to fight through 8,000 to get to the stage.

I realize that not all tickets will actually be picked up... but still, where did he pull the number 8,000 from?

that would be real typical for them...forcing everyone to hop through all kind sof hoops to get tickets, and then the day of the show let any and all people in - ask the people who waited online for the Malkmus show or the Boredoms show in the past year and how ell that went. The Parks Dept is just fucked, they should just have an open door and let anyone in but they are obsessed with Control. They now know by name where many of us will be and when. You can be skeptical but its true.

I got my tickets the first day they were offered for pick up, last Wednesday, June 18. Bike rode from Midwood section of Brooklyn, in full mailman uniform, over the Brooklyn Bridge, I had not done that for like 9 years...Jill Sobule was doing a soundcheck when I arrived at 4PM. Tickets began being given out at 5PM, I was the first person to get tickets. I was told 6000 tickets were alotted for this event. If anyone didn't pick up tickets then those extras would become available to the public the day of the show.

I hope they do a good show, I'm bringing my wife and 14 year old daughter, it's her firsat Sonic show...

What's the chances of crash in next friday. Just found this site yesterday and just learnt of the concert at the same time. Being from Wormtown MA I'd hate to make a 3 1/2 to 4 hour drive and get shutdown.
