I think Black Tambourine may be the best band ever

I really go nuts when I listen to this band. I can't believe it took years of trudging through shoegaze bands before I found them. I wish they had a larger catalogue, but if I could take one album with me to an island to meet my death in the sun it would likely be this one.

Are there any other black tambourine fans around? I've been out a while but I don't recall seeing them mentioned much.

I prefer the original cover above to the jean jacket graphic used on the reissue. It was a fine idea, but most people think of that image when they think of Black Tambourine. But they're an incredible band and I think they just captured some special chords at some really good moments. They must have, or I wouldn't prefer them to so many of their peers.

Not my favourite Slumberland band from that era, that would be Henry's Dress but they would come in second. They had some really nice songs, in reference to the reissue I always though the jean jacket cover was awful haha. But It's a shame the label is pretty bad now.

Henry's dress! I love tiger trap too, they just make me so happy. Black Tambourine are 30 minutes of badass though.

I just checked them out. There is something about the band which I picked up straight away. They're not doing it for me at the moment but I can definitively see the band growing on me with repeated listenings.
