This week's edition of What's This Called? features some special Christmas presents I'm going to be sharing with the listeners.

Tune in to KPSU Saturday, December 22nd from Noon to 1 PM Pacific Time (that's 10-11 PM in Bethlehem, where it's often rather difficult to get a room around this time of year...) for a show that won't feature a lot of holiday carols, but will be delivering a couple gifts for real!

As always the show will:

STREAM LIVE LIKE A ROW OF CHRISTMAS LIGHTS RIGHT HERE!

as well as blast through the audio snow of the old fashioned radio from:

1450 AM in the Portland OR/Vancouver WA metro area
and 98.1 FM on the Portland State University campus!

I got to have Christmas a bit early this year when a huge package arrived at my door from Beta-lactam Ring Records a couple days ago containing full new releases from the likes of Volcano the Bear, Soriah, George & Caplin, LSD March, Seven that Spells, and a sampler with everyone from Anakrid to the seasonally appropriate Christus & the Cosmonaughts!

What's more, BLR gave me a gift to share with the What's This Called? listeners: I have two
$25 gift certificates to the Beta-lactam Ring Records Online Store to the first two listeners to call me during the program at (503) 725-5945 - No Strings (or ribbons) Attached!

That might seem like enough for a show in and of itself, but I also have stuff on tap from Eet, The Family Snar-Snar Orchestra, The Books, Volume Ghost, Moodring, and (this one's essential...) Christmas Decorations!

QUESTION: I don't have an iPod, but may be receiving one for Christmas. Can the download portion of your show be placed on an iPod?

Yeah it definitely can. It's in MP3 format. I've done that myself before. Of course an hour is pretty long, so you'd probably want to delete it later. You can actually subscribe to the Podcast of the show, so it automatically RSS's to your computer each week. I've not bothered to try that yet though.
