Here's one scary piece:

51 U.S. Diplomats Urge Strikes Against Assad in Syria

That's really to bad, as such strikes would create very grave risk of combat with Russian forces, who are assisting Assad's forces in the immediate area.

***

And, surprisingly enough, I find this piece just as scary:

Generals urge GOP, Dems to reject torture in party platforms

You see, by virtue of its having tortured POWs in US custody, the US has essentially waived legal standing to invoke the protections offered by the Geneva Convention on behalf of its own personnel in enemy custody, and it seems to me that these generals are looking for a means of purging the US of its past war crimes in anticipation of future scenarios putting US troops at risk.

***

Putting both of these two stories together, my conjecture would be that some powerful entity is soliciting the letter writing campaigns in an effort to influence executive policy in favor if war with Syria and Russia while soothing the concerns of the troops who will implement that policy. And don't forget that our Nobel Peace Prize-winning president has already put US troops in harm's way in Syria.

Hmmmm.

Its a cluster fuck, Robert, and if we were smart, we would be positioning ourselves to profit from this upcoming World War.
