It's two years old so maybe the book's come up before. But I don't feel like wading through 10,000 posts.

Anyhow, it deconstructs the rock cannon. It's starts off ripping on Sgt. Pepper's and ends with Yankee Foxtrot Vomitorium.

Perosnal hates like Led Zep and the Doors get theirs, but also, suprisingly, Dead Kennedys and Sex Pistols. The whole point of the book is to reconsider those albums that have been deemed "mastepieces" by our critical forfathers, so burning sacred cows is de riguor.

Most of the writers are good and some are excellent. Some parts infuriated me, but I found myself saying quite often "Finally! Someone said it!" I now know that I am not the only one who thinks Patti Smith is unlistenable. What a relief.

I highly recommend it to everyone. A brilliant thread will develop, no doubt.
